Based on this lovely design. I know I've done lace before, but they're kind of my fallback for when I need something nice. I'm going to some fancy party this weekend and thought they'd go well with my dress since I'm wearing all black. I used Sinful Colors Black on Black, and Nicole by OPI's My Lifesaver. Nothing much else to say about these!

Sugar skull nails

Hello again. I wasn't planning on doing my nails, but I was bored and in a rather bad, depressed mood tonight, so I needed to focus on something else for a while. I decided to practice some sugar skulls, because my mother has been making a lot of sugar skull related jewelery lately. Much improved based on my last design, in my opinion. I'm sorry the pictures aren't so wonderful.. my camera just doesn't seem to take close-up shots well anymore. It's pretty old, actually. Oh well.
Anyway.. not totally happy with them, but I suppose I'm glad to be doing nail art again. Gotta practice more!
I'll edit the colors I used in tomorrow.. it's late and I'm a sleepy nail artist.

I'm alive!
I really am, I promise!
Sorry for the absence, lately. I haven't really been doing my nails(gasp!) due to how busy I've been, plus I felt ill again for a while there. Last weekend I was in Atlanta for the awesome Dragon*Con, where I celebrated my 25th birthday as well! I feel old, haha. But it was a blast, and despite being exhausting, I feel very refreshed as far as my creativity goes! Hopefully I'll have some new nail art coming soon.. I have so many ideas bouncing around in my head, I just need to sit down and do them!
I've also started helping my mother with her jewelery side business. She makes macabre/steampunk style jewelery and trinkets, and has recruited me to help out. Hopefully we'll have some neat stuff for the upcoming halloween season! I'll be sure to post some stuff, it's pretty neat.
In addition to all that, I'm also preparing to go to cosmetology school and finally get my license. I've had a few salons express interest in hiring me as a nail technician already, so hopefully everything will pan out for me in the long run.
Now, I'll leave you with a few photos from my Dragon*Con birthday experience. ;)

This would be my mother and I on my birthday.. see the family resemblance?

I found this intriguing little blue box.. hmm. How can you not love a tardis made out of duct tape?

Of course, I then proceeded to find its big brother.

While at the parade, Tom Felton(Draco Malfor from Harry Potter) walked right past us! He was taking pictures of people and having a blast, it seemed. Very amusing.

I know cons have this huge geek stigma attached to them, but come on.. how flippin' sweet is that?

And finally, this was my birthday present from my sneaky mom and boyfriend. One of my favorite artists, Melita Curphy of missmonster.com, had a booth at the convention, and was selling all kinds of her work. She had these stunning original, one of a kind dolls that I swooned over, Sophie here in particular because I love barn owls. She was very expensive, so I kind of mourned not being able to get her, but on my birthday my mom and bf surprised me with her! I was shocked. I absolutely love her to death.
I'll spare you the hundreds of other photos I have.. have a lovely weekend, everyone! :)
