Review: BPS Silver Spike Studs!

Hey everyone! I have another review today, again from Born Pretty Store. These were done on fake, press on nails, so I apologize if they look a little off in the pics.

I loved spikes and studs. Love 'em. Then again I'm perpetually stuck in some weird punk/goth phase, and have been since I was 15, so..

For this mani, I used the Silver Spike Studs from BPS. You get a lot of them, and they're itty bitty, which is very nice. I attached them using nail glue, no topcoat, and damn, they look pretty badass, yeah? Now, these were just for photos, so they're pretty impractical.. some of the spikes fell off when I removed the nails. If you REALLY want these suckers to stick, I suggest nail glue+topcoat, or nail glue+gel topcoat, and try not to use a lot of the spikes, just a few for accents. Again, spikes aren't very practical as they're prone to catch on things, but they look damn cool. I wouldn't suggest using them for a mani you want to last the week.. these are for a more temporary mani, as in a day or two, for a special event. I'd personally use these for a mani for an event like a concert, or going to a club, or something fun like that. I think these would be fun to experiment with for other make-up applications as well.. they'd likely be easy to attach to skin with eyelash glue or spirit gum. All in all, these are very neat little studs!

Used for this mani:
BPS Silver Spike Studs, silver beads, craft store rhinestones, China Glaze Don't Honk Your Thorn, black acrylic paint

Once again, BPS was kind enough to give me a discount for my followers to use!

Thanks for looking, as always. :3

You could be the king, but watch the queen conquer..

I'll be blunt.. I've been feeling like a royal bitch this past week(or two). Bad times all around for Lex. I haven't been doing nails much as a result, but I banged these out last night while I was messing around with some CND Shellac. If you're gonna be a bitch, might as well feel like and be the queen bitch..

As a bonus, here's some nails from.. two weeks ago? Before I got all angry and grumpy. Just another simply bow design. Loved the colors, though.

Loki, starry night, bloody claws.. bunch of different designs!

Hey guys! Bunch of different stuff today. This is all stuff I had in my files I never posted for various reasons.. didn't photograph well, errors on the nail/paint job, etc. You can tell there's flaws, but I still like the designs, so I decided to throw them into one post.

I may wear those claws for halloween.. dunno yet! I really wish those Loki nails hadn't bubbled, either.. they were so pretty. :(

Glitter, flowers, rhinestones.. can I get more girly?

Hey guys? How's it going? I'm back from Atlanta, which.. wasn't as much fun as I was hoping, sadly. Eh. You win some, you lose some, right?

I whipped these out before I left and they held up fairly well over the trip, since I used OPI Axxium gel polish. I've really been digging the hand placed glitter over nude nails lately. I also threw in some acrylic sculpting just for practice. Not bad. Not my greatest, but not bad. I just took them off yesterday because my pink hair was turning them.. well, pink. I cut them down pretty short. Bye-bye talons!

My birthday was on the 3rd and that was.. lame. Stuck in an airport because our flight was delayed, yay. -_- Then I got wicked cramps that only let up today. I feel like I deserve a do-over for that entire week, lol. Hope everyone had a great week, it had to have been better than mine!

Gelish glitterized half-moons

Hi guys! I've been super into the no-chip lately, as you can tell.. it's just so convenient. It lasts way longer on my nails compared to regular polish, with how much I use my hands now. I really love doing half-moons with gel polish because it's so easy to get a nice clean line. I've been obsessed with iridescent hex glitter lately so I threw some in there too, haha.

I'm going on a day-cruise tomorrow, and I think I'm sufficiently blinged out now. ;)

Hope everyone has a nice weekend! And don't forget to enter my giveaway below!

Thor inspired nails

As usual, my title is pretty self-explanatory..  these were inspired by Thor, and pair up with my previous Loki nails. I'm going to do each Avenger, I think. Again, done on fake nails which is why they look kinda weird. I'm not.. extremely happy with them, but they'll do. Might add something to the chain.. not sure yet. My mom really liked them and wants a scaled down version on her nails, haha.

Alright, that's it for now.. later guys.

The Avengers/Loki inspired nails..

Hey guys.. I saw The Avengers and just couldn't help myself. I loved Thor when I saw that(mainly Loki), and the Avengers just.. omg. So good. SO GOOD. I just want to hold Loki and cuddle his evil and identity issues away.

I did these on some fakies since my nails were too short for what I was picturing. I'm really sorry the pictures are so bad, they look a LOT better in person. Oh well.. who cares, it involves Loki, haha.

Okay, I'm done. I swear.

Red rose nails.. rawr.

Hey guys! Tonight was my school's fashion show.. the theme was Grimm's Fairytales. One of students was doing Rose Red for a model, and asked me to do the nails for it. It was really fun! It was neat to play around with extreme length and acrylic sculpting.. they're just fake nails that I extended with long tips, blended, painted, then sculpted over with acrylic for the roses. That ring is one of my polish rings I made, too.

We didn't place, but it was still fun. They seemed to be a hit at the show with everyone who saw them. Can't wait to play around more!

Louboutin inspired nails

Hi guys! Firstly, I'm happy to announce I didn't have to get fake nails put on yet.. whew. It's coming soon, though. Ick. I've been enjoying my natural nails while I still can.

Anyway.. I've been obsessed with the jewel-encrusted Louboutin's ever since I saw them years ago. They are stunning. I thought I'd try to translate them onto nails, but it didn't turn out too great.. bah. I didn't have the right color rhinestones, I'm running out of them. They aren't horrible, but they aren't ideal. I'm still gonna wear them just because I'm lazy. The undersides of my free edge are painted red, too, which is why they look dirty in the pictures, lol.

Polishes used:
Revlon, Royal

Off off off with your head!

Another mani inspired by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.. like this a lot better than the last one! Isn't the skull cute? I snagged him from our jewelry making supplies, he was the only one in there that didn't have a matching bead. These will either be used in a photoshoot or made available for sale if anyone's interested.

Polish:
Zoya, Trixie
China Glaze, Phat Santa
Loose red glitter, rhinestones, beads

Red half-moons

Nothing too exciting this time, sadly.. just another half-moon mani! I liked the last one a lot so I wanted to try another color. I used Barielle's Elle's Spell this time, and added Essie's Matte About You to make a little different. Not sure if I'll keep it matte or just go back to glossy. Anyway.. I don't use red a lot, but the outfit I'm wearing tomorrow is all black/ivory, so I wanted a pop of color to go with my red lipstick. I feel like this style of mani is going to be my go-to when I'm not feeling inspired, since it's so simple to do.

Embellished half-moons

Hey guys! I was bored so I tried something simple to attempt and get back in the nail art swing. Just some half-moons with a little rhinestone/pearl accent bling. I used Nicole by OPI's My Lifesaver and Sinful Colors Black on Black. It was really easy.. I just laid down My Lifesaver, waited for it to dry, then used those hole reinforcer sticker thingies to block out the moons and laid the black over that.

I'm not entirely sure if I like 'em, since I was never crazy about the half-moon trend, but I figured I might as well give a shot, y'know?

See you guys next time, have a nice weekend! :)
